This month’s edition goes to . . . Dr. Ian Julie!
Here’s the story:
We had a busy A pod shift because CCT was getting killed. We got 5 MVCs which the triage nurse asked us to clear to fast track. We all starting clearing them quickly, Dr. Julie thought one of them didn’t look right and did a good exam on her during which he found a field cut. He ordered a CT with contrast and found the patient to have a huge head mass with vasogenic edema. Although the patient’s outcome probably won’t change much, the fact that he did a thorough exam and did not simply just look to clear the patient to FT was really great!
