This month’s edition goes to . . . Dr. Elizabeth Abram!
Here’s the story . . .
Dr. Abram saw an elderly female with generalized weakness for 4 days and vomiting 4 days ago, with no chest pain or shortness of
breath and a non-diagnostic ECG. She was (in retrospect co
rrectly) concerned that MI could be in the DDX and se
nt cardiac enzymes. The troponin came back as almost 7 and the BNP was over 1000. This could easily have been missed, even by an experienced attending. Definitely a great save!
Definitely a great pick up!
