We’re back with another edition of Wednesday Wrap-up after a brief hiatus! During today’s Peds M+M conference, there was a somewhat heated discussion about using ultrasound to evaluate abdominal pain and specifically to evaluate for appendicitis. I don’t want to go more into the case but I thought it would be a good idea to encourage us all to use the ultrasound more so we can be more comfortable doing these scans ourselves. I’m going to refer again to the awesome Emergency Ultrasound Podcast where they have a great video describing how to do it. Check out the link below:
I would love to hear your comments and please tell us about your experiences with using ultrasound to look for appy! Are any of you doing it regularly and have you found it helpful?
