45 year old female presents to the ED after falling on her arm. She was jumping out of the way of a “crazy driver” and fell onto her arm. She complains of severe arm pain. You see a visible deformity on your exam.

Xrays show:

forearm-ap forearm-lat

What describe the fracture. What would you do for this patient?

Monteggia + Olecranon Fx. Bado Classofication – Type III fx. Analgesia. Ortho Consult. Options for repair include non-operative (closed reduction) vs operative (ORIF of ulna shaft + open reduction of radius of IM pinning of ulna).
