Welcome to the new picture blog! We will be posting pictures of visual diagnoses in the beginning of the week with answers to be posted at the end of the week.
Here is the case for week 1:
A 7 year old male with no known past medical history presents with a new rash for 3 days. His parents say that no one else in the apartment has any new skin changes, but they think that other people in the building have complained of new “rashes”. He says that he woke up with it 3 days ago and shows you where he thinks the rash started on his left upper extremity.
What is your diagnosis? Leave comments below and the answer will be posted at the end of this week.
Disclaimer: all pictures are obtained with permission of the patient/family and are not Kings County patients.

Im just an MS1, but it looks like insect bites. It reminds me of ant bites I had as a kid. It doesn’t really look like scabies. Similar lesions in the neighborhood suggests an environmental cause like bugs.
